Remember a time when the idea of a Disney/Final Fantasy crossover game would’ve sounded crazy? Me neither. So I can’t see why this teamup of Japan’s legendary Studio Ghibli and Cartoon Network’s hit Adventure Time, as envisioned by Super Punch’s David, wouldn’t also make for an amazing crossover. Of course, it would never actually happen. But hey, dare to dream, right?

Prediction: Within my lifetime, someone, somewhere will decide that the scene from “A Christmas Story” in the Chinese restaurant with the waiters who can’t pronounce the letter “L”, is too racist to be shown on TV. And my entire generation will simultaneously facepalm in response.
This box office showdown could not have ended more poetically. The culmination of a calculated, well thought-out, brilliantly creative production strategy by Marvel- and a movie named after a board game that has nothing to do with the actual board game. Between this and The Hunger Games giving Twilight the boot, maybe there’s hope for Hollywood yet….
I really hope Peter Weller is playing a villain in Star Trek 2. His turn as the main baddie on 24 gave us some of that series’ last great moments. Then again, he also lent a badass robotic edge to hero Alex Murphy in RoboCop, so I’m sure he’s perfectly capable of doing almost any role justice in the Star Trek canon.
I love hearing about this kind of horror story from successful past projects- especially from a company as legendary as Pixar. Just goes to show that even the best of us make terrible, terrible mistakes once in a while (not counting Cars 2).
