I’d just have to find a new path for myself, somewhere I could put my talents to proper use. I’d find a new passion to drive me to improve my skills and abilities, and I’d find new ways to pull my crazy ideas out of my head and into the real world. Along the way, I would obliterate the notion of what being “paper awesome” meant in my mind. I’d shoot it down, redefine it, and own it.

Since then I’ve worked hard to turn being Paper Awesome from a weakness into one of my biggest strengths. I managed to switch gears quickly enough to find work in New Media, and adapt my skillset to carve out a path for myself in this new field. I named this blog “Paper Awesome” to remind myself of this lesson: Although confronting your shortcomings is difficult, in the end it’s the only way to grow as a person and make yourself stronger.
